Pender County Updates: Shelter Closures, EOC Operations, and Power Outages

This is the latest update on Tropical Storm Debby from Pender County Emergency Management. It will provide information regarding recent shelter operations, Emergency Operations Center (EOC) activities, and power outages.

Shelter Closures: Pender County emergency shelters closed their doors at 3:00 PM today. The shelters were established to provide temporary refuge for residents affected by recent severe weather conditions. We appreciate the cooperation and patience of everyone who utilized these facilities.

EOC Operations: The Pender County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will conclude its operations at 6:00 PM this evening. The EOC has been actively coordinating response efforts and providing critical information to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents. Our dedicated team will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.

Power Outages: According to Duke Energy's outage map, only two customers in Pender County are currently without power. Restoration efforts are underway, and we expect those affected to have their power restored shortly. We thank Duke Energy for their prompt response and support during this time.

County Office Operations: Pender County offices will resume normal operations and hours tomorrow. All services will be available as usual to assist residents with their needs. We appreciate the community’s understanding and patience as we transition back to regular operations.

Flooding Updates: We will provide daily updates on river flooding until water levels drop below the flood stage. We urge residents to stay informed and take necessary precautions. Please follow official Pender County channels for the latest information and guidance.
