Pender County is working alongside Brunswick, New Hanover, and Onslow counties to update the Southeastern NC Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan—a roadmap for reducing risk from natural disasters and improving community readiness.
We’re asking Pender County residents to take part in the planning process. Your insight is vital to ensure the updated plan reflects the unique needs and priorities of our communities.
This regional plan identifies risks like flooding, hurricanes, and severe weather and outlines ways communities can reduce those risks and protect what matters most. By working together and gathering public insight, we’re better equipped to prioritize actions that benefit everyone.
This update also supports continued access to federal resources that strengthen community readiness and recovery.
