Home Posted on May 10, 2023

Burgaw, NC – The North Carolina Blueberry Festival is set to host its 21st Annual summer festival, taking place on and around Burgaw’s historic courthouse square at 100 S Wright Street. The festivities will begin with a kickoff concert on June 14th, running from 7 pm to 10 pm, followed by a full day of activities on June 15th, from 9 am to 10 pm. This free event will feature 175 artisan vendors, fresh local blueberries for sale, children’s activities, beer and wine, delicious food, and live music from popular beach bands such as the Band of Oz.

In addition to the entertainment, the festival will offer a variety of events encouraging public participation, including a recipe contest, BBQ cook-off, 5k race, and car and truck show.

The North Carolina Blueberry Festival is more than just a celebration; it honors the historical, economic, and cultural significance of blueberries grown in the southeastern region. By attending, participants support a worthy cause, as proceeds from the festival fund educational scholarships for students in blueberry-producing counties such as Bladen, Duplin, New Hanover, Pender, and Sampson. The funds also support academic and sports-related school programs, medical clinics in schools, and local charitable efforts like Meals on Wheels.

Organized by the North Carolina Blueberry Festival Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the festival is made possible by the efforts of over 100 volunteers. The North Carolina Blueberry Festival promises something for the entire family. For more information, please visit www.ncblueberryfestival.com.
