The Pender County Board of Commissioners has appointed Meg Blue as interim county manager, effective immediately. Blue brings over a decade of public finance experience to the role and has served as the county’s Finance Director since 2019.

In her role as Finance Director, Blue has been responsible for overseeing all aspects of the county’s financial operations, including annual budget preparation, long-range financial planning, personnel and capital project funding. 

Blue holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Master of Accounting from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Prior to joining Pender County, she worked with a North Carolina-based auditing firm. 

The Board’s appointment comes as the county enters the critical final stages of its annual budget process for the upcoming fiscal year. Blue will lead the county’s administrative team during this important period, ensuring continuity in operations and strategic financial planning.
