Pender County Parks and Recreation is proud to announce that two staff members have earned the Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) credential, a nationally recognized certification awarded by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA).
Carson Ashley, athletics supervisor, and Elizabeth Dancy, recreation coordinator, recently achieved the CPRP designation, which signifies excellence, leadership and commitment in the field of parks and recreation. The certification highlights their expertise in areas such as operations, programming and management.
Ashley holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and a Bachelor of Science in sport management from North Carolina State University. Dancy earned a bachelor’s degree in hospitality, tourism and event management from UNC Wilmington.
