911 Communications Center

 

The Pender County 911 Communications Center operates 24 hours a day seven days a week to ensure fast, professional, and courteous service to the citizens and visitors of Pender County.

The staff is trained to assist the public with many situations and have received specialized training to perform Emergency Medical Dispatch Protocols as the telecommunicator is the First Responder in the majority of situations.

The Communications Center receives and dispatches law enforcement related calls for the Pender County Sheriff’s Office and the Police Departments for Burgaw, Surf City, and Topsail Beach as well as emergency calls for Pender County EMS and Union Rescue Squad, and the county’s ten (10) Fire Departments and NC Forestry. The Communications Center handles after hour calls for Emergency Management, Department of Social Services and Animal Control as well as being a local liaison between the public and various NC State Agencies (Wildlife, State Highway Patrol, and Forestry).

The staff of Pender County 911 Communications Center has one main goal, to assist the caller in the most expedient, professional manner as possible to provide the services needed.
